Grandview School Board approves staff changes

GRANDVIEW – The Grandview School Board this past Monday approved several personnel changes.

Hired were Omar Moreno as a math teacher at Grandview High School; Azalyn Croft as a seventh grade language arts teacher at Grandview Middle School; Alejandra Chavez as a seventh grade math teacher at Grandview Middle School; and Hidie Barrera as a resource room teacher at Grandview Middle School.

Also hired were John Jennings, Andrew Penwell, Rick Ramos and Patricia Amaro, to serve as test reading and writing proctors.

The board also gave its stamp of approval to the employment of new classified staff. Hired were Esperanza Alvarez-Castro and Irma Trinidad as writing and reading proctor aides; Sabrina Garibay as a registrar at Grandview High School; Griselda Diaz to be a federal and state programs secretary in the district office; Miryam Navarro as a special education para-pro at McClure Elementary School; Erika Smith as a one-year temporary para-pro at Smith Elementary School; and Jennifer Lopez to work as a kindergarten jump start clerical assistant in the district.

The board also accepted letters of resignation from Matt McKinstry, a Grandview High School physical education teacher, Jesus Maldonado, a Grandview High School Spanish teacher, and Abraham Cazarez-Cervantes, Grandview Middle School counselor.
