Yakima County deputies field calls regarding burglaries, theft

Two burglaries in a span of two hours kept the Yakima County Sheriff’s office busy yesterday, Wednesday.

The first burglary, reported just before 3 p.m., was in the 2200 block of Forsell Road near Grandview. It involved a TV, jewelery and a DVD player taken from the home. In addition, the thief or thieves kicked in a door and damaged a computer.

The second burglary was in the 1100 block of North 16th Street, near Sunnyside. A TV and “a couple thousand dollars” in cash was taken from the home.

Deputies also were dispatched to the 2200 block of Chaffee Road near Sunnyside last night regarding the theft of a TV. The TV was reportedly taken by a family member.

In other Lower Valley activity since yesterday, Yakima County Sheriff’s deputies fielded one call about suspicious activity and one animal complaint.
