‘Fill the boot’

Sunnyside firemen and volunteers stop motorist Yesenia Gonzales and her passenger, Delaney Rojas, on their way through downtown Sunnyside last Friday in search of donations for the annual “Fill the Boot” fundraiser. The firemen, during a five-hour shift, collected $2,884 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, according to Fireman Mike Beckwith, fundraiser chairman. Nearly 25 firemen and volunteers participated in the event held on South Seventh Street, near the Sunnyside Post Office.
