Sunnyside police were alerted to two burglaries this past weekend.
On Friday, a resident in the 100 block of Riverside Drive reported a burglary. After further investigation it was discovered a friend visited the home without the homeowner’s knowledge.
Yesterday (Sunday) a resident in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue returned home from a camping trip and discovered several items missing from the residence. Police investigating the burglary believe the home was accessed via a window.
Officers also responded to a report of shots-fired in the 100 block of West Edison Avenue yesterday. A resident there reported hearing two gunshots and thought bullets struck his home. Investigating officers were unable to find any bullet holes, casings or other evidence of gunfire.
Since Friday, Sunnyside police officers have also responded to five automatic alarms, two reported assaults, a report of child abuse or neglect, a reported controlled substance problem, four domestic complaints, a fight, two loud music calls, a runaway juvenile report, nine suspicious activity calls, a vandalism report, five traffic mishaps and a reported sex crime.
Police, too, provided assistance to another agency and six citizens, served three arrest warrants, fielded four informational calls and provided three welfare checks.
