Personnel changes OK’d in Grandview

GRANDVIEW – In action last night, Monday, the Grandview School Board approved several personnel changes within the district.

The board approved hiring Zachary Sybouts, high school boys P.E. teacher; Scott Carson, music teacher for Smith Elementary; Haley McGinnis, physical education teacher for Harriet Thompson Elementary School; Javier Alvarez, middle school counselor; LeAnn Mohar, long-term para educator at Harriet Thompson Elementary School; and Vanessa Medina, high school assistant volleyball coach.

Resignations approved last night included Jessica Bridgman, high school physical education teacher; Zach Sybouts, P.E./health teacher at Compass High School; Selene Zapata, special education interpreter/translator; and Silvia Olveda Alvarez, food service.

Monday night the board also approved a leave of absence for middle school vice principal Jack Dalton.

Superintendent Kevin Chase noted Dalton will be out three to six weeks on medical leave. Chase said he might reach out to retired administrators if there is a need to temporarily fill the post for a few weeks.
