Substitute teachers’ pay in Mabton school classes bumped (again)

MABTON – Last month the Mabton School Board approved a pay raise for its substitute teachers, increasing the daily rate to $120.

Since the July 28 meeting other school districts in the Lower Yakima Valley also increased rates of pay for substitute teachers, according to Finance Director Gina Grow.

To remain competitive, the Mabton School Board this past Monday approved an amendment that increases the rate of pay in the Mabton School District to $130 per day.

The amendment was approved by unanimous consent.
