GRANGER – The Granger Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the 11th annual Menudo Festival this coming Sunday at Hisey (Dinosauer) Park, beginning at 11 a.m.
This year’s events will include a co-ed volleyball tournament, and a “Chill and Grill” car show, which is co-sponsored by the Lowcos car club. The car show is free to enter, and is open to any and all vehicles. Local car enthusiasts are urged to bring chairs and grills, and spend the day visiting with fellow car nuts.
A new addition to this year’s event will be free games for children, during which prizes can be won.
Vendors will be selling food and other items at the annual community event.
One of the main reasons to attend the menudo festival is to eat fresh menudo that will be prepared by a past winner of the annual cook-off.
The main attraction, this year’s menudo cook-off, will feature blind judging of this year’s entries. A team of judges will sip and eat their way through all of the entries until they decide on the 2014 winner. The cook earning top honors will be awarded $300 in cash.
Judging begins at 2 p.m. and the winners will be announced at 3:30 p.m.
