On Friday, Liddy Valle and Jessica Mendoza led Sunnyside in scoring with 16 and 13 points, respectively. On Saturday, Emilee Maldonado and Selena Rubalcava tallied 17 and 15 points, respectively, to lead Sunnyside. Jordan Rodriguez had a combined 23 points in the two contests. Coach Rick Puente said defense was the key to victory in both games, especially on Saturday when the Lady Grizz used a 19-7 run in the second quarter to rally from an early deficit.
