Nelson named Realtor of the Year

PROSSER – The Lower Yakima Valley Association of Realtors held its annual awards luncheon at the Horse Heaven Saloon in Prosser last Thursday and presented the following honors for 2013:

  • Kenneth M. Nelson, designated broker/owner of DK Bain Real Estate in Sunnyside was named the 2013 Realtor of the Year.

  • Javier Rodriguez, broker with LKR Real Estate Services in Prosser, earned the Achievement Award.

  • Gina E. Gamboa, broker with Hearth & Home Realty in Sunnyside, received the Community Service Award.

  • Holly Castle, designated broker/owner of NW Wine Country Real Estate in Grandview, earned the Political Action Committee award.

  • Daniel Churchill, broker with DK Bain Real Estate in Sunnyside, received the Lower Yakima Valley association’s President’s Award.

  • Laura K. Ripplinger, designated broker/owner of LKR Real Estate Services in Prosser, earned the 2013 President’s Award for Lower Yakima Valley MLS.

  • Larry Goodman, owner of Pacific Alliance Title LLC in Yakima and Sunnyside, and Escrow Pacific LLS in Yakima, garnered the Affiliate of the Year Award.

  • The Tri City Association of Realtors was presented the Partner of the Year Award. Accepting the award were Wayne Langford, the Tri City association’s 2013 president, and Lola Franklin, the association’s associate executive.

  • The Yakima Valley Community Foundation received the Citizen of the Year Award. Sister Mary Rita Rohde, the foundation’s secretary, accepted the award.
