YAKIMA – The Yakima County Commission yesterday (Wednesday) approved an amendment to the contract for consulting services for the Yakima Valley Groundwater Management Area Advisory Committee.
The consultant, HDR Engineering Inc. of Pasco, provides services to assist the advisory committee with its nitrate regulatory framework and best management practices work. HDR will also provide consulting services for the initial characterization assessment.
Services provided include consulting, design, advisory and/or surveying work.
The amendment to the contract is for $30,489, bringing the total contract to $296,891.
In addition to the consultant’s contract, Yakima County commissioners approved an agreement with Radio KDNA for use of its building for Groundwater Management Area Advisory Committee meetings.
The advisory committee will continue to use the facility for its meetings through Dec. 31, 2014.
The county agrees to pay $50 per hour for less than half a day to use two meeting rooms at the facility.
The amendment to the consultants agreement and the contract with Radio KDNA were each approved by a 2-0 vote. Commissioner Mike Leita was not present for yesterday’s meeting.
