Sunnyside’s best and brightest will take center stage on Saturday, March 8, when the Sunnyside Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Spirit of Sunnyside Awards Banquet.
Tickets for the banquet are $30 per person and go on sale next Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the chamber office, 451 S. Sixth St.
The banquet will be held at the Sunnyside Community Center, 1521 S. First St., on March 8, starting with a no-host social and silent auction at 5:30 p.m. That will be followed by a buffet dinner at 6:30 p.m.
“This evening is set aside as our opportunity to honor but a handful of the many community members who go above and beyond to make Sunnyside a better place,” said Pam Turner, the chamber’s executive director.
In conjunction with the Spirit of Sunnyside awards, the chamber is seeking nominations for honors in the following categories: pioneer (past or present), healthcare, educator, business of the year, public official/employee, business person, youth, beautification (business or home property), volunteer and hero.
To be eligible for the awards, nominees must be a resident of or work in Sunnyside, Outlook, Mabton or Bickleton.
Nomination forms are available at the Sunnyside Chamber of Commerce office and must be submitted by Monday, Feb. 24. Nominations must be accompanied by an information sheet that includes the nominee’s biography and accomplishments. For more information, call the chamber office at 837-5939.
