Two juveniles arrested after police follow tracks in snow

GRANDVIEW – Officers in Grandview responding to a tip yesterday morning (Tuesday) arrested two juvenile males suspected of a series of burglaries and attempted burglaries.

A resident called in a report from the 500 block of Ismo Court of a juvenile carrying a television from a residence to an awaiting vehicle. Responding officers discovered prints in the snow that led them to other houses that had evidence of attempted burglary.

The tracks eventually led police to the 300 block of Davie Road, where they found a vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s vehicle. After obtaining a search warrant, Grandview police searched the house and located two suspects along with the stolen items.

The males were transported to Yakima County Juvenile Detention. The Grandview Police Department again asks citizens to be watchful of their neighborhoods and to report suspicious activity.

Yesterday, officers were also called to the high school to handle a report of assault.

Also yesterday, police started investigating a hit and run accident in the 700 block of Highland Road. A vehicle parked along the side of the road was struck by an unknown vehicle.

Since Monday morning police have also conducted four welfare checks, served a court order, handled three reports of animal problems, responded to four traffic problems, fielded an informational call, provided an agency assist, dealt with a juvenile problem and provided assistance to citizens twice.
