Senate page

Toppenish High School sophomore Liliana Gutierrez worked as a student page for Sen. Jim Honeyford of Sunnyside last week in the Washington state legislature. Gutierrez was one of 18 teens who took part in the program during the third week of the 2014 legislative session. Pages deliver mail, run errands, present the flag and learn parliamentary procedure firsthand. Students also try their hand at drafting a bill and engage in a mock session.
