Mabton police busy during past week

MABTON – Mabton police were kept busy this past Monday investigating a series of suspicious activities occurring in the community’s neighborhoods.

Officers received reports of a suspicious looking vehicle circling the block near the 500 block of Rose Street. A short time later, officers were called to the same area to investigate report of an adult male banging on doors. Following a search of the vicinity, officers were unable to locate anything out of the ordinary.

Mabton officers have also investigated a two reports of malicious mischief since last Saturday. One report involving a broken vehicle window reported from the 500 block of South Street and the other report regarded damage to the Mabton cemetery gates on Vance Road. The amount of the damage to the gates was unknown.

Officers received a report of a stereo taken from a vehicle in the 300 block of Second Avenue this past Saturday.

In addition, police investigated a business alarm in the 400 block of “B” Street. The cause of the alarm was unknown, but the building was found to be secure.

Officers have also made two arrests during the past week. Police arrested an adult male on charges of disorderly conduct and an adult male was arrested for driving while license suspended, third degree.
