Mabton eyes capital projects

MABTON – Mabton, like other cities, has a six-year street plan.

Now, the city council is assembling a six-year plan for capital projects to maintain and improve Mabton’s infrastructure.

While the only specific project getting funded this year is $800,000 in grant monies for repairing the city’s old high school building, council last night assembled a catalog of repairs that will be needed in the future.

During a study session Tuesday night, repairs discussed for future years ranged from a new roof for the police station to reconstructing First Street.
