GRANDVIEW – The Grandview City Council this past Tuesday night adopted an ordinance that prohibits land use that is illegal under local, state or federal law in any zoning district within the city of Grandview.
Attorney Quinn Plant said this is step one of council’s request for an ordinance that prohibits the operation of marijuana production, processing and retail businesses.
The new ordinance creates a new section in the Grandview Municipal Code, leading the way for an ordinance that more directly prohibits recreational marijuana businesses.
The ordinance banning such businesses will be presented to the Grandview City Council at its March 11 meeting.
The council adopted the ordinance that prohibits land use that is illegal under local, state and federal law by a 5-0 vote.
