Mabton firefighters provide meals for students

MABTON – During the winter break, Mabton students did not need to go without lunch.

That’s because the Mabton Fire Department and school district sponsored a free winter break lunch program.

Food donations were collected by the school district staff to provide the free meals.

Lunches were served by volunteers to approximately 68 students daily at Artz-Fox Elementary School.

This is the third year free lunches have been provided to students through the winter break.

Mabton Superintendent of Schools Minerva Morales said the community has been supportive of the program. She is proud of the partnership and generosity of the Mabton School District staff, the fire department and school administration.
