I am writing to ask Sunnyside and Outlook voters to join me in voting YES on the upcoming school bond.
The math is simple. If we approve this $10 million bond, the school district will receive an additional $11.5 million from the state to build a new Washington Elementary School, as well as improve safety and security at its other schools. This would be done without a tax increase, which will keep our schools tax rate the second lowest in Yakima County.
This would also benefit the rest of our community through the revenue and jobs that would be created by the school construction projects.
Sunnyside schools have done a great job raising the graduation rate; let’s continue to support them in their mission to support the success of all students by voting YES for the Sunnyside School Bond.
