No. 1 ranked Marizza Birrueta (left) also won her bout with a pin in 3:43 against Liz Galvez in the 106-lb. bout. The Greyhounds gave up 36 points in forfeits to Toppenish and eventually succumbed 58-16. Also winning for Grandview were Stevie Rodriguez (152 lbs.) with a 10-7 decision over Zech Romero, and Diego Castaneda (138 lbs.) with a 10-1 decision over Steven Martinez. In losing efforts for Grandview but showing great fight, Viannei Perez (113 lbs.) held Luis Torres scoreless midway through the second period before getting pinned. In the first period she came close to scoring on three different occasions. At 132 lbs., Desiree Zavala of Grandview gave No. 3 ranked Sergio Morales all he could handle before getting caught late in the first period and was pinned with only three seconds left in the round. At 160 lbs., Brandon Marquez wrestled No. 1 ranked Brent Evans of Toppenish and fought well but was defeated 17-5.
