Shoplifter drops beer when chased

GRANDVIEW – Police in Grandview are looking for the suspect in a shoplifting incident that occurred yesterday afternoon (Tuesday) in the 300 block of East Wine Country Road. A juvenile male reportedly left the store with a six-pack of beer and was chased by another customer. The beer was recovered but the suspect has not been apprehended.

Police also investigated a report of a stolen purse in the 300 block of Adams Street yesterday afternoon.

Last night work uniforms also were reportedly stolen from a vehicle in the 300 block of Elm Street.

Yesterday morning police received a report of a case of identity theft. A victim in Grandview reported that a person in Indiana may be using her Social Security number.

Since yesterday morning Grandview police have also responded to a civil matter, a report of suspicious activity, two domestic calls, two reports of animal problems, a report of an abandoned vehicle, a parking problem, an automatic alarm and a report of fireworks.

In that time officers also conducted three welfare checks.
