County policy includes two days for faith

YAKIMA – Yakima County commissioners on Tuesday of this week approved a revision to the employee leave of absence policy to include two unpaid holidays.

Those days may be taken for faith or religious purposes.

The revision states an employee may take two unpaid holidays “for reasons of faith or conscience or for an organized activity conducted under the auspices of a religious denomination, church or religious organization.”

The revision to the leave of absence policy was adopted by a 3-0 vote of the commissioners.
