YVCC’s Lower Valley grads named

YAKIMA – Yakima Valley Community College recently released the names of those graduating with the class of 2014 this past spring.

Graduating with an Associate of Arts degree were Sunnyside’s Itzel Alvizo, member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society graduating with honors; Sherran Marie Campos; Andrea Sonya Candido; Jasmine Gonzalez, with honors; Rosa Maria Magana; Madison Marie Marquez, with honors; Jose Marie Marro, with honors; Lindsay Marie Medrano; Lisette Ramirez; Eva Velasco, with honors; and Sandra Zamora.

Sunnyside’s Dinora Verdugo Lopez graduated with high honors, earning an Associate of Business degree, and Abel Valenzuela Jr. also earned an Associate of Business degree.

Earning an Associate of Applied Science in chemical dependency studies was Sunnyside’s Connie Diane Marsch of Sunnyside. She graduated with honors and was named to the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Felicia Lea Garcia of Sunnyside earned an Associate of Applied Science in radiologic sciences.

From Outlook, Vanessa Amber Cornwell graduated with an Associate of Arts degree and Jesus Ivan Mendoza earned an Associate of Applied Science in automotive service technology.

Four students from Mabton graduated with an Associate of Arts degree. They include Roman Chavez and Angel Reyna, who graduated with honors. Debbie Torres and Rosa A. Torres also were among the graduates.

Grandview students earning an Associate of Arts degree include April Isamar Carrillo, with honors; Isela Castillo-Corona; Jared L. Churchill; Sean M. Davis; Eric Escobar; Jesus M. Garcia; Jessica Mercedez Gomez; Laura Gutierrez, named to the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, graduating with honors; Julie Marie Hernandez; Ryan Hill; Makenna K. Hoffard, with high honors; Francisco Medina Jr.; Erika Rodriguez, with honors; Shawna Casey Santini, with honors; and Lori Leann Serl.

Graduating with an Associate of Business degree were Jose Luis Espindola and Guadalupe Rangel Gutierrez of Grandview. Gutierrez was named to the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and graduated with honors.

Three Grandview graduates earned an Associate of Applied Science in medical assisting. They include Alma Angeles Lozano Ildelfonso, Gracie Madrigal and Melissa Martinez Ponce.

Graduating with an Associate of Applied Science in nursing were Brenda Cardenas and Miriam Robles, who graduated with honors.

Shelly D. Richardson of Grandview graduated with honors, earning an Associate of Applied Science in veterinary technology.

Earning an Associate of Applied Science in winery technology was Grandview’s Rudy M. Jimenez.

Granger students graduating this past spring from YVCC with an Associate of Arts degree include Omar Cardoza and Laura Ortiz Bustos.

Earning an Associate of Business were Sophia Yvette Ochoa and Yeni Octaviano of Granger.

Hector Camacho of Granger earned an Associate of Applied Science in criminal justice, and Josefina Venegas of Granger graduated with honors, earning an Associate of Applied Science in early childhood education.

Also among the students in the Lower Valley to graduate this past spring were students from Prosser. Earning an Associate in Arts degree were Mikella K. Borstad, with honors; Nicole E. Garza; Sonia Rivera; and Lindsey Margaret Vice.

Earning an Associate of Business degree was Prosser’s Rocio Pedroza.

Hilary Elise Moore of Prosser earned an Associate of Applied Science in dental hygiene, and Marsha K. Greer earned an Associate of Applied Science in nursing.
