Local students graduate from WSU

PULLMAN – Washington State University has released the list of students who earned undergraduate degrees for the spring 2014 semester.

Sunnyside natives who graduated are Ibelia Avalos, Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences; Victoria Castro, Bachelor of Arts in English; Renee Dalrymple, Bachelor of Arts in sociology, cum laude; Eric Desmarais Jr., Bachelor of Science in psychology, magna cum laude; Matthew Hatfield, Bachelor of Science in integrated plant sciences; Jessica Izquierdo-Perez, Bachelor of Science in psychology; Julie Long, Bachelor of Science in nursing, cum laude; Udi Nadir Nassar, Bachelor of Science in general biological sciences; Christopher Newhouse, Bachelor of Science in agricultural and food systems and Bachelor of Science in animal sciences; Danielle Newhouse, Bachelor of Arts in business administration, cum laude; Jessica Newhouse, Bachelor of Science in animal sciences; Marie Quintero-Hill, Bachelor of Science in nursing, cum laude; and Yesenia Quiroz, Bachelor of Arts in human development.

Grandview natives who made the list are Daniel Canales, Bachelor of Science in integrated plant sciences; Selene Chavez, Bachelor of Science in nursing, magna cum laude; Michaela Gonzalez, Bachelor of Science in psychology; Komal Naran, Bachelor of Science in mathematics, cum laude; Deicy Orozco-Marron, Bachelor of Arts in human development; Sierra Le Sonderman, Bachelor of Science in zoology; Devon Swofford, Bachelor of Science in zoology, cum laude; and Bayli Ziegler, Bachelor of Arts in sport management.

Prosser natives graduating are Adrienne Bousquet, Bachelor of Arts in business administration; Karmin Corliss, Bachelor of Science in genetics and cell biology; Jessica Gudino, Bachelor of Science in psychology; Alejandro Romero, Bachelor of Science in civil engineering, cum laude; Robert Thonney, Doctor of veterinary medicine; Mark Tyler, Bachelor of Arts in business administration; and Jill Warwick, Bachelor of Arts in communication, cum laude.

Outlook natives Hilari Bosma, Bachelor of Arts in speech and hearing sciences, magna cum laude; and Ashley Haak, Bachelor of Science in nursing, cum laude also graduated this spring.

Also earning their degrees are Erica Calixto of Mabton, Bachelor of Arts in business administration; and Matthew Paul of Granger, Bachelor of Science in agricultural and food systems.

Honors earned by students include summa cum laude for a cumulative grade point average of 3.90 or better, magna cum laude for a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.70 but less than 3.90, and cum laude for a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 but less than 3.70.
