YAKIMA – The “Bite of Yakima” is a community celebration of the Yakima Valley’s unique culinary offerings from local restaurants, confectioners, bakers, food trucks, agricultural producers, manufacturers and more.
The annual event is set to take place on Saturday, June 28, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Yakima Area Arboretum.
There is a $5 gate fee for anyone 8-years-old and older. All food samples will be provided at the cost of $2 each or less.
The “Bite” gives community members the opportunity to sample a diverse range of foods from chips and salsa to chocolates and sausages in one place. Visitors can learn more about area restaurants, while expanding their palate.
Bring a blanket and picnic under one of the arboretum’s many trees, listening to music and sampling some tasty eats. Or step into the beer tent to sample and purchase specialty wines and beers from around the region.
Guests attending the event will be eligible to vote on favorite foods with the “People’s Choice Awards.”
Children at the event can enjoy a kids area, stage entertainment and all the outstanding food and beverages at the 2014 “Bite of Yakima” event.
Part of the proceeds from this event will go to the Yakima Area Arboretum, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization.
