Work crews expand scope of project

Sixth Street north of Edison Avenue was closed to motorists on Thursday so construction crews could grind down the asphalt. The downtown Sunnyside roadway has since been reopened to vehicles, and will remain open a little while longer as construction on the Sixth Street block south of Edison Avenue is finished. The southern block will be paved next Tuesday, according to officials, but the sidewalks will not be completed until the city receives the paving stones sometime in July.
