Frio grand opening held Friday

Participating in a grand opening celebration held last Friday in downtown Sunnyside are the Miss Sunnyside Court and the owner and staff of Frio. Joining in the traditional ribbon cutting ceremony are (L-R) Sunnyside Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Pam Turner, Miss Sunnyside Princesses Leah Diddens and Ashley Davis, Frio employees Vanessa Lopez and Christina Lopez, Emma Alvarez and her mother, Frio owner Maggie Alvarez, shop employee Samantha Lopez, Miss Sunnyside Alyson Spidle and Miss Sunnyside Princess Tiana Perez. The 525 S. Sixth St. shop opened on May 2.

Adding to Frio’s grand opening celebration was a Dragon Theater princess, posing as Cinderella, who created balloon animals for those attending Friday’s grand opening of Sunnyside’s only frozen yogurt shop.
