The 2014-2015 season of the Lower Community Concert Association debuts on Saturday, Sept. 13, with music by the Habaneros from Havana, Cuba.

September may seem to be a long way off with summer just getting started, but this is the time to buy tickets as special reduced season ticket prices are in effect until next Monday, June 30.

With the discount, the five-concert season will cost $50 for adults, and $115 for families with up to two children.

After June 30 tickets will go up to $55 for adults and $125 for families. Regular student tickets are $15 and $5 for additional children.

The other concerts in the series range from comedy to serious music.

William Florian, who was a lead singer of the folk group The New Christy Minstrels, will play music from the ‘60s. Comedian Al Simmons will perform his classic Vaudevillian act and musical humor. Saxophonist Rob Verdi will bring his collection of instruments and will perform with local student

musicians.

The last concert will be the “blazing virtuosity and emotion” of the violin and guitar duo of Alex DePue and Miguel De Hoyos.

All concerts will be in the Sunnyside High School auditorium. Tickets can be purchased by calling 839-5222. Details are available at lowervalleyconcerts.org.
