Substitute teachers to earn more next year

The pay rate for substitute teachers in Sunnyside schools was increased from $115 a day to $126 a day in order to be competitive with surrounding districts.

The change in rate was approved by a 4-0 vote, with Sunnyside School Board Director Sandra Linde recusing herself.

Isn't that about $18/hour (--with no benefits, I'm assuming)?? For someone who has spent years in college?? I know it's more than before, but you can earn that much doing yardwork.

abilingualteacher, even with my eight grade education i an tell that 8 timrs 15 would be 120 so know it isn't 18 per hour.

Slim, if abilingualteacher is really a teacher that might be some of the problem with our students and their math scores. Maybe abillingualteacher should stop teaching Spanish and bone up on math.
