Numerous thefts reported to deputies

Deputies from the Yakima County Sheriff’s office are investigating the theft of $500 worth of Hot Wheels model cars reported yesterday morning (Monday) from the 1000 block of South Third Street near Mabton.

Deputies are also investigating a burglary reported last Thursday in the 4100 block of Dekker Road near Outlook. A door was broken to make entrance and the thieves stole a television set.

A New Holland tractor was also reported as stolen last Friday from the 700 block of Randel Road near Sunnyside. Last Thursday, a riding lawnmower was reportedly taken from the first block of US Grape Road near Sunnyside.

Also last Thursday, a horse theft was reported to deputies from the 800 block of Chase Road near Grandview.

Last Friday afternoon a car prowl was reported from the 2200 block of Cemetery Road near Sunnyside.

Items were reportedly stolen from a grave in the 7900 block of Van Belle Road near Sunnyside. The missing items were reported to deputies this past Saturday afternoon.

Over the weekend deputies also responded to several reports of gunshots in the Lower Valley. No shooters were located.

Since last Thursday morning deputies have also handled six reports of animal problems, a report of illegal burning, four automatic alarms, two civil matters, four domestic calls, three reports of suspicious activity, a dispute between citizens, a report of a runaway juvenile, three traffic incidents, a report of harassment, a report of illegal dumping, a report of a juvenile problem, a noise complaint and an emergency medical situation.

In that time deputies also conducted a welfare check, provided two agency assists, recovered a stolen vehicle and provided assistance to citizens twice.
