Pedestrian uninjured when struck by car

No injuries were reported in a pedestrian-vehicle collision reported early Monday morning in the 1800 block of East Edison Avenue, according to a Sunnyside police report.

The vehicle reportedly struck the pedestrian at a slow rate of speed. The 17-year-old victim declined medical assistance at the scene. There was apparently no damage to the vehicle, but the driver of the vehicle was cited for reckless endangerment.

Police also investigated a two-vehicle collision reported at approximately 6:30 a.m. today from the 1800 block of Waneta Road. The accident occurred when the first vehicle failed to yield to the second vehicle at the stop sign. No injuries were reported.

In other activity, police investigated two reports of shoplifting, one automatic business alarm, two animal complaints, one assault, one civil matter complaint and two reports of harassment.

Additionally, police also investigated three juvenile problems and made four traffic stops.

Sunnyside police also provided three agency assists, served two arrest warrants, made two citizen assists, took two reports of found property, fielded two informational calls and made five public service contacts.
