Busy weekend for S’side cops

Since last Friday Sunnyside police have responded to a number of calls, including three thefts and a burglary.

Yesterday (Sunday) a resident in the 100 block of Hemlock Avenue reported items stolen from a vehicle, employees at Goodwill reported a shoplifting incident and a resident in the 500 block of Stackhouse Street reported an attempted burglary. Not items were stolen from the residence and entry was not successful.

This morning (Monday) a resident in the 1300 block of South Sixth Street reported a DVD stolen from a vehicle.

Officers have also received two assault reports, stopped a driver suspected of DUI, assisted firefighters with traffic control and evacuated residents at a fire scene, responded to two juvenile problems, investigated six suspicious activity calls, made five traffic stops and investigated four non-injury traffic mishaps.

Sunnyside police, too, provided two agency assists, served an arrest warrant, provided three citizen assists, fielded eight informational calls and made four public service stops.
