Soroptimists’ annual flower sale underway in Sunnyside now through end of next month

Now is the time to start placing orders for the geraniums and petunias that the Lower Valley Soroptimist International Club sells each spring. The plants can be purchased individually for $2 apiece, or in flats of 18 for $35.

The geraniums are offered in four colors – red, white, pink and salmon. The colors of the wave petunia blooms being offered are purple, white, blue and rose.

Orders for the 4-inch plants may include varieties and mixed colors.

The deadline for ordering the plants is Friday, April 25. Orders can be placed with any Soroptimist member, or can be phoned in to Barbara Miller at 837-4093.

The plants will be available for pick-up on Saturday, May 3, at Sunnyside’s Banner Bank, located at Ninth Street and Edison Avenue. Pick-up hours that day will be from 9 to 11 a.m.

All orders placed now through April 25 must be prepaid.

Monies generated through the annual plant sale are used to fund college scholarships, and to help the Soroptimist club sponsor the activities of Lower Valley Hospice Pediatric Palliative Care, the Lower Valley Crisis Center and breast cancer awareness activities.
