Special concert to be staged on May 18

YAKIMA – The League of Women Voters of Yakima County is pleased to bring back The Righteous Mothers; four funny, philosophical folk-rock musicians who have been a noted Northwest performing group for more than 26 years.

The special concert will take place on Sunday, May 18, at the Yakima Valley Museum in Yakima.

In addition, guest artist Christine Lavin of New York City will be performing.

Lavin received a 2012 NYC Nightlife Award given annually to the best concert and cabaret performers.

The Righteous Mothers are fearless in their displays of wit, theater-of-the-absurd, drama and outrageous choreography. Their songs are surrounded by warm sentiments and mind-bending tales. Each concert is a celebration of the human spirit, warts (and courage) and all.

The concert will be at the Yakima Valley Museum on Sunday, May 18, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Tickets are $35 in advance or $40 at the door, and may be purchased by calling Millie at 509-966-3409 or by emailing yakimacountylwvyc@gmail.com.

Proceeds support League of Women Voters’ projects.
