YAKIMA – The Yakima Area Arboretum and the Yakima Valley Audubon Society invites the public to a special Kiddin’ Around event at the Arboretum called “Going on a Bird Hunt.”
The free event, set to take place on Sunday, June 8, from 1 to 4 p.m. on the arboretum grounds, will provide participants an opportunity to look for and identify the birds that live on the grounds.
A number of birds can be identified, from the smallest chickadee to the great blue heron.
There are several bird viewing stations set up around the arboretum, allowing individuals to view the birds at a leisurely pace.
Audubon members and volunteers will be available at each of the stations to answer questions.
Participants are urged to bring water, walking shoes, a hat and binoculars.
Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
