Rifles stolen in burglary on Bishop Road

Yakima County Sheriff deputies are investigating a burglary reported this past Saturday morning in the 1000 block of Bishop Road near Sunnyside. The victim reported two rifles missing in the break-in.

Deputies also responded to a report of a vehicle theft yesterday morning (Sunday) from the 1100 block of Phipps Road near Sunnyside. The 2003 Chevy Cavalier was later recovered after it was abandoned in an accident.

Last Thursday afternoon deputies also responded to a report of a cow running loose in a neighbor’s field.

Deputies are also investigating four hit and run accidents reported over the weekend, two on Saturday and two on Sunday.

Since last Thursday morning, deputies have also handled two reports of fraud, five domestic calls, a report of abuse, a report of a civil matter, two reports of runaway juveniles, two reports of assault, four noise complaints, a livestock incident, three automatic alarms, a report of a juvenile problem, two reports of suspicious activity, two reports of traffic hazards, a report of threats and a case of malicious mischief.

In that time, deputies also provided a citizen assist, made an arrest in a DUI case and provided two agency assists.
