Fireworks near Sunnyside lead to citation by deputies

Yakima County Sheriff deputies cited a person for illegal fireworks this past Saturday afternoon in the 30500 block of SR 24 near Sunnyside. According to reports, the person threw the fireworks at another person.

Deputies also are investigating a burglary reported last Friday afternoon in the 5200 block of East Euclid Road near Mabton. The victim reported two game consoles and other electronics were missing.

Yesterday afternoon (Sunday) deputies investigated a report of a sprinkler theft in the 500 block of Sixth Avenue near Mabton. The sprinklers stolen were worth about $70 according to the victim.

Last night deputies responded to a report of gunfire in the 3000 block of Factory Road near Sunnyside. The reporting party told deputies that they believed their home had been fired on, but had not witnessed the shooting. Deputies are investigating the incident.

Since last Friday morning deputies have also responded to a report of possible drugs, two automatic alarms, two reports of suspicious activity, two animal problems, three reports of runaway juveniles, four traffic incidents, a civil matter, a report of assault that turned out to be unfounded, two domestic calls, two noise complaints and two reports of juvenile problems.

In that time deputies also provided assistance to citizens in the Lower Valley three times.
