Outlook home riddled by bullets last Saturday morning

Very early last Saturday morning Yakima County Sheriff deputies responded to a report of shots fired at a house in the 100 block of South First Avenue near Outlook. Area residents reported hearing between 15 and 20 rounds being fired at about 4 a.m.

While deputies were en route, the victims of the shooting called and reported that their residence had been struck numerous times but no injuries had been sustained. Arriving deputies immediately noticed approximately twenty 7.62 caliber firearm casings in the roadway.

The victims, including a baby less than a year old, had been sleeping and did not witness the suspects or the vehicle involved.

Deputies ask anyone with information about the identity or whereabouts of the suspects to call the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office at 574-2500. Tips can also be called into Crime Stoppers of Yakima at 248-9980 or 800-248-9980.

Last Friday deputies also investigated a burglary reported in the 1000 block of Appleway Road near Grandview. The victims reported that televisions and a game console were taken.

Deputies also took a report of the theft of a red Yamaha ATV from the 1400 block of Arms Road near Outlook last Friday morning.

Last night (Monday) deputies cited a person for smoking marijuana in public near the intersection of First Avenue and Outlook Road near Outlook.

Last Saturday night, residents in the 500 block of East Euclid Road near Mabton reported hearing eight or nine rounds of gunshots. Deputies were unable to locate anything.

Since last Friday deputies have also handled two reports of animal problems, five automatic alarms, a report of custodial interference, eight reports of suspicious activity, four reports of livestock incidents, two noise complaints, three traffic accidents, a civil matter, a report of malicious mischief, four domestic calls and a report of a runaway juvenile.
