Blaze displaces Outlook family

OUTLOOK – Yakima County Fire District 5 personnel were dispatched to a structure fire in the 20 block of G Street in Outlook this past Sunday night.

Yakima County Sheriff Office deputies, who were first on the scene, reported that smoke was coming from the attic of the residence.

Upon the arrival of the first engine company, firemen were advised smoke was increasing in density and coming out under pressure.

Fire personnel located a small 10’x10’ fire, burning in blown-in insulation in the attic, burning against the wall. Fire had spread up the interior attic wall up to the eves. Fire was contained to a small area of the attic.

It is unknown how the fire started.

The occupants of the structure stayed with family in the Outlook area, as the house was unlivable due to the power being cut to the residence.
