Armed robbery suspects sought by police in Sunnyside

Police in Sunnyside last night (Tuesday) raced to the 300 block of South 13th Street for a robbery in progress.

The victim reported being robbed just before 10 p.m. by two Hispanic males wearing hoodies. One suspect was reportedly carrying a bat and the other wielded a firearm. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated.

Officers canvassed the area, looking for the suspects who may have fled in a white sedan.

Police are seeking the public’s help in locating the suspects. Anyone with information that will help police locate the suspects is urged to call 836-6200.

Officers also yesterday responded to an assault reported in the 2000 block of Yakima Valley Highway. The caller said two men were involved in a dispute after one of them attempted to run the other over with a vehicle.

Police since Monday have also handled several routine calls for service.

The calls included a 9-1-1 hang-up call, an automatic alarm, 12 animal complaints, an assault report, two fraud reports, a harassment complaint, five juvenile problems, six suspicious activity calls, five traffic stops, three traffic mishaps, a report of threats and an unsecure premises call.

Officers, too, provided three prisoner transports, four citizen assists and three welfare checks, served an arrest warrant and a court order, and fielded six informational calls.
