Firemen kept busy

Gas smells, a brush fire and an automatic alarm topped the list of Sunnyside Fire Department calls this past weekend.

Firemen responded to the 400 block of Alexander Road for an automatic alarm, Sunday morning, which proved to be a false alarm.

In addition, firemen responded to a report of gas smells in the 900 block of East Lincoln Avenue last Saturday morning, but nothing was found.

A brush fire in the 800 block of East Edison Avenue was extinguished by the time firemen arrived on the scene last Friday afternoon.

In other activity, Sunnyside EMTs have responded to 12 emergency aid calls, provided nine transports and conducted four facility transfers since last Thursday.
