Benefit set for Extra Mile Center

GRANDVIEW - A community yard sale to benefit Grandview’s Extra Mile Student Center, is being organized by a group of concerned citizens.

The yard sale will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at the Grandview Chamber of Commerce parking lot, 303 W. Wine Country Rd., from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“We are now accepting donations for the sales at the chamber office,” said Andrea Hendrickson, a chamber board member.

She said the benefit is being organized by former Miss Grandview Cecelia Coronado and a few of her friends.

The organizers will be accepting donations at the chamber office between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. tonight (Friday), Hendrickson added.

The popular youth tutoring and mentor center located in downtown Grandview was destroyed by fire last Friday.

In addition a “GoFundMe” account has also be established for the Extra Mile Student Center, according to Gene Iwami, the center founder and director.
