Tri-City Americans kick off busy week

Harriet Thompson Elementary School choir sang at the Tri-City American’s hockey game Friday as part of the fourth annual “Sing for Santa” performance. The entertainment featured hundreds of local students singing during the first intermission. School mascot “Tommy Thompson” was also present to cheer on Grandview students.

— The Tri-City Americans will play three games this week, starting at home tomorrow against the Portland Winterhawks.

Gametime is 7:05 p.m. in the Toyota Center, 700 W. Grandridge Blvd.

On Friday and Saturday, the Americans will play the Seattle Thunderbirds.

The first game – No. 33 for the season – takes place at 7:35 p.m. Friday in ShoWare Center, 625 W James St., Kent.

The second game is at home in Kennewick; the puck drops at 7:05 p.m.

The games are the last three for the Western Hockey League before teams take their Christmas break.

In addition to daily practices, the Americans will be ringing bells from 10-11 a.m. for the Salvation Army at Fred Myer stores in Kennewick and Richland.
