Juan Avalos, 70, of Grandview passed away on Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, in Richland.
He was born Sept. 6, 1944 in Jalisco, Mexico to Antonio and Antonia Avalos.
In April of 1965, he married Maria Alvarez and had seven children together. He worked as a laborer in agriculture. He loved to hunt and fish, but most of all spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Maria Avalos, of Grandview; five sons, Ramon Avalos, Salvador (Juanita) Avalos, Jesus Avalos, Ruben (Ibelia) Avalos and Antonio Avalos, all of Grandview; two daughters, Juana Avalos (Blas Noriega) and Bertha Avalos both of Grandview; three brothers, Jose (Esperanza) Avalos, Jesus (Rosa) Avalos and Miguel Avalos, all of California; 26 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Viewing and visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, from 4 to 8 p.m. with the recital of the Holy Rosary at 6 p.m. at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grandview, followed by graveside services at the Grandview Cemetery.
