MABTON – With cracks and chunks of it breaking off or spalling, the Mabton Fire Station driveway will be replaced this spring.
The work has been in the planning since at least last year.
In action on Tuesday of this week, the Mabton City Council approved a plan to replace the driveway at a cost of $45,000 to $50,000.
The work will be funded from the fire department’s budget, with a partial refund from Yakima County Fire District #5.
It’s expected that work will start in March or April.
