Granger woman hurt in two-car crash last Friday

GRANGER – A teen was charged with failure to yield the right of way in a collision last Friday near the westbound I-82 exit 58 off-ramp that injured a Granger woman.

The State Patrol said Robert L. Castillo, 18, of Wapato was driving a 2014 Jeep Wrangler when he failed to yield the right of way to 47-year-old Rosa G. Gonzalez of Granger.

Castillo, troopers say, was stopped at the stop sign at the exit 58 off ramp in Granger, when he pulled out and struck the 1995 Honda Accord driven by Gonzalez, who was traveling southbound on SR 223.

The State Patrol said cause of the accident was Castillo’s failure to yield.

Gonzalez was transported to Toppenish Regional Hospital, troopers say, and Castillo was not injured.

Both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene, the State Patrol noted.
