Chamber seeks nominees for grand marshal

— Most folks here know someone who was or is involved in agriculture.

And that person could be the grand marshal of Sunnyside’s 27th annual Lighted Farm Implement Parade, set for Saturday, Dec. 5, at 6:30 p.m.

That’s because the Sunnyside Chamber of Commerce’s parade committee invites the public to submit nominations for parade grand marshal.

Nominees must be (or were) associated with the local agriculture industry.

Previous grand marshals, for example, have included Outlook farmer Marvin Partch and Congressman Dan Newhouse.

Nominations should include a letter of recommendation, including a brief description of the nominee’s contributions to agriculture and the community. Those submitting nominees are asked to include their name, telephone number, and email as well as the address and telephone number of the nominee.

Nominations for grand marshal of the 27th annual Lighted Farm Implement Parade must be received by the chamber of commerce no later than Monday, Nov. 16.

Nominations can be e-mailed to or sent to the chamber at P.O. Box 360 in Sunnyside.
