Benefit dinner to aid cancer victim

Dennis and Sara Cromwell’s church is hosting a benefit dinner to help the family with ongoing medical costs resulting from his fight with colon cancer. The dinner will be held Saturday, Nov. 21, at Sunnyside Sun Valley Elementary School, where she is a music teacher. The couple’s four children includes Trey, 10, Timmy, 8, Grace, 5, and Hope, 4.

— A spaghetti dinner benefit and silent auction to benefit a local man suffering with stage 4 colon cancer will be held Saturday. Nov. 21, at Sun Valley Elementary School.

The 6 p.m. benefit will include a dessert and a silent auction featuring such items as Seahawk gear, a guided fishing trip and a night at Sunnyside Inn Bed and Breakfast.

The dinner is being organized by members of the Sunnyside First Baptist Church for Dennis “DJ” Cromwell of Sunnyside, who was diagnosed with cancer nine months ago.

He continues to battle the disease, which has taken a financial toll on his family.

He and his wife Sara, a music teacher at Sun Valley Elementary School, have four children, ages 4 to 10.
