OUTLOOK A Grandview man is scheduled to appear in court today after allegedly leading police on a high speed chase.
Jose Sanchez Corona, 30, is charged with eluding police, third-degree driving with his license suspended, driving under the influence and reckless driving.
The incident started yesterday afternoon near Van Belle and North Outlook roads when a Washington State Patrol trooper noticed a passenger in a black Honda Civic not wearing a seatbelt.
The trooper attempted to make a traffic stop on Van Belle Road, court documents say.
Instead of stopping, Sanchez Corona accelerated and reached speeds of more than 100 mph while attempting to escape the trooper, records show.
The car was stopped at 1940 Dekker Road, and he was taken into custody, records state.
The trooper believed Sanchez Corona had taken methamphetamine and obtained a search warrant to test his blood, documents state.
Sanchez Corona is also known as Jose Socorro Sanchez in court documents.
Two passengers, a man and a woman, were also detained during the traffic stop, records show.
