Budget action scheduled

— Yakima County commissioners will consider approving a budget for 2017 during their meeting tomorrow.

They previously had two public hearings on the budget to receive comment.

The proposed general fund budget, covering day-to-day costs, is $62.7 million.

The county’s overall 2017 budget proposal is $229.6 million, a 2.5 percent reduction from this year.

Also tomorrow, commissioners will have a public hearings on urban growth area amendments.

Commissioners meet at 10 a.m. in the Yakima City Council Chambers, 129 N. Second St.
