CHELAN The boys and girls basketball teams knocked off the Caribou Trail Leagues best Saturday.
In boys action, Tred Delp led the Zillah boys varsity basketball team to a 77-51 win Saturday over the previously undefeated Chelan.
And for the girls, Samantha Bowman led the Leopards to a 71-42 victory over the Goats.
The Zillah girls took a 20-point halftime lead.
Trista Takes Enemy added 14 points for the Leopards and Megan True posted 21.
Chelan was led by Lexie Gleasman with 14 points, Madi Harrison with 12 and Katie Gleasman with 10.
For the boys, Delp posted 24 points for the Leopards, and lead all scorers. He had two 3-pointers and went 2-2 on the free throw line.
Chelan coach Jeff Pearl called Zillah “very talented and well-coached.”
Zillah took an 18-19 first quarter lead and expanded to 42-25 by halftime. The Leopards added 35 points in the second half. The win followed a big come-from-behind 50-47 victory Friday in their league opener against the La Salle Lighting.
LaSalle took a 14-8 lead in the first quarter and expanded it to 31-23 by halftime. But Zillah outpaced the Lightning 18-7 to take the lead at the end of the third quarter. Both teams posted 9 points in the final period.
Zillah was led by Abbie Meyers with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Samantha Bowman added 10 points. Maci Favila had 9 rebounds for the Leopards and Kaia John had 8 more.
Natalie Newman led LaSalle with 14 points.
